This program has been designed for children ages 7 to 13 years of age, who would like to learn the art of Ju-jutsu (柔術). Jujutsu is a Japanese martial art developed as a combat art by the samurai of feudal Japan. This program offers children a strong foundation in essential character-building qualities, such as courtesy, respect, and discipline. In addition, the program is designed to improve children’s motor skills and enhance their ability to pay attention and follow directions. This program is designed to teach your child a comprehensive self-defense system in a controlled, safe and fun environment. The Junior Samurai techniques will encompass blocks, strikes (including boxing skills), kicking, avoidance techniques, throws, kata (prearranged movements), joint locks, grappling, Kobudo (tools used for defense), break falls, rolls and basic meditation.
